If you have family or friends who love the outdoors, who are preparing for the unexpected, or who just plain love camping and hiking, then giving food, equipment, tools and other supplies that can serve not only camping and hiking and other outdoor activities, but can be critical in a disaster can be a great gift. Use the holidays as a way of helping them build the supplies they need.
While none of us want to face disaster, we have all seen what can happen when the unexpected occurs. All of a sudden the shelves at the local grocery store don’t have the items we all look for and need. Milk, eggs, and even toilet paper disappear. And contrary to what is often communicated about daily or weekly refilling of the store shelves, it can take weeks or months for those items to return.
Below you will find a list of 28 stocking stuffers that will be welcomed by campers, hikers, hunters, fishermen and fisherwomen, and everyone if disaster strikes. So if you are looking for mens stocking stuffer ideas, you are sure to find something here.
We updated this list for 2020.
Stocking Stuffers for Outdoorsmen
We are starting off our list with jerky. Who doesn’t love jerky?
If your outdoorsmen recipient doesn’t want to eat their jerky right away, they can always throw it into a go bag or in with their emergency preps.
Wool Layers (wool long johns, socks, underwear, etc.)
Wool is a great way to keep warm when it’s cold outside.
Wool is naturally water-resistant (as long as it’s tightly woven together) as it has lanolin in it. This water-resistant ability makes wool a great choice for the outdoorsmen.
Merino wool is great to use and is a favorite choice for socks around here. Although, angora wool is warmer.
